2.3 Knock Signal Gain Setup

Parent Previous Next

QUICK INFO:

The knock signal gain is used to adjust the instrument for maximum detection range depending on the base engine noise profile.

You might have to adjust it so that you do not get too low or too high knock level numbers.

Required Action

- Adjust the knock signal gain by clicking the "UP" and "DOWN" buttons

- In most cases this setting will not need adjustment as the default setting is calibrated for the supplied knock sensor and a wide variety of engines!

Adjustment procedure:

If you are using the second basic preset with an rpm trigger you can test the gain while running the engine through the rev

range with full power and no knock (use safe settings). Adjust the gain so the signal peak does not exceed the 80-100 range.

This will provide adequate sensitivity and knock detection range.
