We are looking for a passionate and focused Embedded Systems Engineer who will join our team to play a critical role in strengthening our existing motorsports electronics portfolio and who will also be decisive in helping us develop new solutions as part of our expansion and growth efforts.
The suitable candidate should possess a strong understanding of the interplay between hardware, firmware & software while having a hands-on engineering mindset to be able to conceptualize new solutions and initially drive small projects relatively autonomously. The right candidate should also demonstrate strong potential for growing into a senior, multidisciplinary R&D role within few years.
Our focus will be on applicants who effectively combine a strong analytical mindset with a structured hands-on approach while looking at things from the customer’s/user’s point of view. Passion for the motorsports/automotive sector with relative experience in engine management systems and/or mechatronics will also be critical for us in making the final choice.
The Embedded Systems Engineer will support and work side-by-side with our CTO.
Examples of work you might undertake
- Research on specifications and requirements for improving existing products or developing new ones
- Development, testing, debugging and integration of prototype PCB/PCBAs
- Design of complete, small scale initially, embedded systems: HW (digital/analog/power/…) & FW (C/C++)
- Research on & selection of PCB components to match requirements and optimize BOM cost
- Perform preliminary & detailed design activities (block diagrams, design analysis, schematic capture, prototype testing, reviewing and reporting)
- Testing and troubleshooting existing & prototype systems (HW/FW)
- Participation in the development of design verification & validation processes
- Participation in the development of technical & manufacturing data packages, user manuals, specification documents and technical reports
- Finished product functionality testing in order to identify bugs and recommend fixes
Primary Requirements
- BSc or MSc degree in Electronics/Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in complex, multi-layer PCB/PCBA design
- Solid embedded systems architecture & software development skills (C/C++)
- Hands-on experience in supporting the complete cycle from concept to prototyping, production and troubleshooting
- Experience and thorough understanding of automotive ECUs, related systems and communication protocols
- Good knowledge of components selection and procurement
- Proactive mindset and ability to respond to unforeseen problems promptly and in a pragmatic manner
- Motivated to take ownership and drive forward new processes that will improve R&D productivity and/or increase quality
- Understanding of the relationship & trade-offs between manufacturing, design, testing and programming
- Ability to jump into existing projects, quickly comprehend the bottlenecks and assist the implementation process
- Ability to learn quickly learn our products inside-out and be competent with testing functionality to identify issues
