Using the Knock Monitor V2 with dual knock sensors.

The Knock Monitor V2 can be used with 2 knock sensor inputs if the dual option is enabled. This mode is suitable for dual bank engine where one sensor is located on each bank.

The following requirements apply:

1. The trigger mode 3.2 should be set to 2 cylinders or higher. If the engine has wasted spark ignition the number of cylinders must be divided by 2.

2. The trigger input wire must be connected to the ignition signal of cylinder 1. This means that the engine must be running coil per plug and sequential ignition or an inductive clamp has to used on cylinder 1 spark plug wire.

3. The firing order of the engine must be setup in menu 3.5

4. Sensor 2 must be assigned to at least one cylinder bellow the firing order in menu 3.5

A signal from Knock Sensor 2 will only be available in the real time screens when the engine is running a a trigger signal is received.

Hint!

The audio output will provide filtered audio from both sensors regardless of the trigger signal input.

QUICK INFO:

You can check whether your Knock Monitor V2 has the DUAL Knock option enabled in menu 7.2. If it is not enabled you can contact Plex Tuning and provide the serial number of your device to purchase the option.

WARNING!

-The Knock Monitor will only produce correct results with 2 knock sensors if used in per cylinder mode. The 'No trigger' and 'RPM Trigger' modes should not be used.
