QUICK INFO

A new input function for ethanol content measurement has been added in firmware version 1.16. The signal from the ethanol / flex fuel sensor should be connected to the PBC-Pro VSS input.

CONFIGURATION

  1. Connect the Ethanol /Flex Fuel sensor to +12V power and ground as instructed by the sensor manufacturer.
  2. Connect the  Ethanol /Flex Fuel sensor signal wire to the PBC-Pro VSS input(white wire).
  3. A pull up resistor between the sensor signal wire and the sensor +12V wire might be required.
  4. Enable the ethanol content measurement function by setting the "pulses/10m" value in menu 5.3 to 0.
  5. Select the "ETHANOL %" parameter for viewing on any realtime screen.

IMPORTANT: As the Vehicle speed measurement and Ethanol content measurement share the same PBC-Pro input only one function can be used at a time.

In vehicles which provide Vehicle speed information through the can bus there is no conflict.

When using the 996T Can Bus mode the VSS input defaults to Ethanol Content measurement to allow the setting in menu 5.3 to be used for calibrating the vehicle speed indication.

IMPORTANT: The PBC-Pro is compatible with Ethanol content sensors which provide a frequency output with the following specification: 50Hz = 0% Ethanol, 150Hz = 100% Ethanol.
