The Scuderia Mensa formula student team of the Rhein Main University has once again chosen the PLEX SDM-500 GPS Display for their SPR20 project that will compete in season 2020. Scuderia Mensa develops and builds race cars for the formula student competitions for more than 10 years, with their innovations relying highly on the research and testing of their custom built cars.
An important role in our project is the PLEX SDM-500 GPS display and logger, which we use successfully use since 2017. It’s intuitive design and detailed functions help us generate valuable insights and derive real-time feedback that each team member can utilise on his/her function.
In 2020, the team will compete with a single-cylinder race car. Yet, for 2021 they are already preparing to switch to a new, electric vehicle as well as a its driverless alternative.
The most important feature for our testing and development is the Logging Feature of the SDM-500 Display. In combination with the PLEX Data Analysis Software (PDA-WIN-PRO) each teamember is instructed to gain more knowledge about their component and validate their design.
PLEX is wishing the team best luck and success in the upcoming season! For above information and content we would like to thank Thomas Struwe (Team Electrics).
