With luminance of 1,000 cd/m2 the 480 x 272 display looks very vivid and is easily readable in all light conditions and from various viewing angles. Enhanced by our QuickGlance™ UI, the display comes across as being larger than it actually is and stands out due to its unique clarity.
20Hz display refresh rate ensures a smooth, real-time-feel visual experience and lets you view exactly what is happening, the moment it is happening, with no delay in between
A sensitive light sensor at the front enables adaptive display dimming to suit the light conditions and makes viewing better both in direct sunlight and low light conditions
7 auto-dimmable shift LED lights with configurable set point per gear as well as step distance per rpm (e.g. every 100rpm) ensure optimised gear changing.
Smart Colour Coding
Configurable 3-level parameter colour-coding minimises distraction and communicates engine status easily with just a quick glance. How does it work? The user defines the low (BLUE), normal (GREEN) and high (RED) thresholds for each displayed channel and the SDM-300® colours it accordingly once the values hit that range. Your peripheral vision will then let you know almost instinctively when something is out-of-place and if it requires your extra attention.
Optimum Contrast, Saturation and Fonts
Instead of trying to impress with fancy realistic graphics, overly contrasted display items and ineffective fonts, we chose to implement the most effective combination of font type / size, colour palette and contrast levels that is derived from aviation dashboard design and colour theory studies. Priority is placed in having effective display items that require the minimum driver attention and achieve a “magnifying” effect making the SDM-300® come across as larger than just 4.3”.
The Auto Display Page Changing function allows you to keep your hands on the wheel and your focus on the track without having to manually switch among different pages. You only have to decide on the conditions and the parameters for 4 different display pages: “WARM-UP”, “RACE”, “ERROR” and “NORMAL” and once the thresholds are reached the SDM-300® will automatically switch to the respective page.
More than 10 different display page layouts to choose from, plus Pop-up displays, diagnostic overview, setup and statistics pages. All designed to offer best possible viewing ergonomics. Users can select to install the same layout many times but with different channels and name them accordingly.
“DEFAULT” PLEX THEME
Our recommended theme for optimum viewing ergonomics based on recent studies
“COLOUR BLIND” THEME
Theme for colour blind drivers who cannot easily distinguish green and red
“OEM STYLE” THEME
Amber colour theme for blending the display better with OEM dashboards
White background theme usually preferred for day or open air use
Depending on your ECU’s capacity and the connected sensors, the SDM-300® can display up to 256 different channels among which are ECU status and error flags. Always be in the know of what’s going on inside your engine.
Easily view the minimum or maximum values of every displayed parameter by clicking on the side Jog Dial and then decide whether to maintain the value in memory or dismiss it and start counting again
Continuous Engine Log function that runs on the background and which keeps an independent log with max. values and histrograms for key engine parameters such as RPM, MAP, ECT, OILT, FUELT and the min. BATV.
20 pre-loaded Smart Alarms which only require that you input their trigger value reduce set-up time by more than 80%. Alarms will then appear superimposed in high contrast over the display page according to set priorities. A history of the last 100 alarms including their date, value and duration will be stored for later retrieval on the PC SW.
Uniquely shallow total installation depth of just 19mm makes the the SDM-300® suitable also for OEM dashboards. Without any protruding wires and connectors from the back side, installation is quick and requires minimum effort.
Control your SDM-300® easily on-the-fly via the side Jog-Dial and Back-Buton which are used for device configuration, menu browsing/page changing and viewing the Engine Log. The side keys let you easily configure the alarms, themes, OBD setup, LED lights and most other available parameters.
8 user-defined math channels allow custom parameters to be calculated in real-time. Examples: break bias calculation, long-button hold detection, accumulated condition active time, and more.
Fully programmable CAN BUS for message receive lets you configure the display to collect information for almost any CAN Bus ECU or other device on the market. Configurable message transmit lets you control other devices such as PDMs or translate message to a different format as required.
Optional (I/Os Upgrade):
- 2x Multipurpose Inputs
- 2x Aux. Outputs
When setting-up a display for a project, the single most important attribute for tuners/race engineers is the required time. Our revised PLEX Device Manager® SW, provides the fastest and most intuitive configuration experience by reducing set-up time by up to 70%. You can now spend more time in tuning and testing than in customising and configuring the displays for your customers.
The new PLEX Data Analysis Software is one of the easiest, fastest and most versatile analysis solutions available and is meant to shape the way customers benefit from our dash displays and our other data loggers. Based on thorough usage case research while keeping the focus on delivering a fast & intuitive to use tool, we managed to create a solution that enables customers to better understand their logged data and as such derive actionable inferences in regards to identifying problems or improving performance.
